Hi and Thank you for signing up for Yuletide this year!
Presumably we share at least one fandom, so I'm glad we're in it together! I have included links to all the series I have requested (where available) in case there's something unfamiliar that sounds interesting. I can't guarantee I have good taste, but each of these is entertaining in its own way, and I love them dearly.
I go by
sakuramacaron on AO3. I enjoy well-thought out introspection or scenes that highlight an interesting dynamic. Humor is always welcome, though I personally understand that can be a challenge to write, so please don't feel pressured to work that in.
With your comfort in mind, my NSFW Likes/Do Not Wants are on a separate link.
Regardless of if you use the prompts below or not, I will appreciate what you write, so please focus on having fun with it!
Warm Regards,
sakuramacaron
YES:
DO NOT WANT:
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun / Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun
I didn't expect this series to slap me in the feelings so aggressively, but 2021 was my "crying in the (figurative) club about anime" year. I love how Iruma is clearly a fish out of water, but has a support system and creates bonds that make him feel more at home than he ever felt in the human world. Growing into a sense of self, his personal wants and sense of agency really touched me. The wacky worldbuilding complete with demon puns wherever possible is also /chef kiss. Love it. It feels great.
**NOTE** Not all characters need to be included. Solo-focused pieces, or combinations of the characters are OK!
Opera is officially stated to have they/them pronouns; so if you plan on writing about them, please maintain that, thank you.
Let's explore all the ways Opera made Kalego's school life hell. I'm curious about what that was like.
Honestly, anything where Eggy-sensei suffers is good. Let Iruma bully him, too.
One of my favorite parts of the series are Ameri and Iruma's shoujo manga reading times and the comedic misunderstandings that come from the culture clash between the Demon World and Human Japan. What are some things that come up that might need explaining?
What happens when Iruma runs out of shoujo manga to read?
Ameri and Iruma decide to create their own romance manga. How does this go?
Pretty Boy Detective Club
I cried at the end of this anime, too. Realtalk, 2021 has been A Time. As far as nisioisin series go, this is probably one of my favorites. There's always a bit of genre-savviness with a twist that gives it so much personality and life. Mystery is one of my favorite genres, and the approach to growing up and looking back on it got me more than I had expected. The conflict between the very Japanese pro-conformity mindset of "the nail that sticks up must be beaten down" versus the eccentric individuality of the main cast and their fight to preserve that so that Manabu could have a school life he could remember happily was surprising. Manabu's willingness to give up for Mayumi's safety destroyed me, so I'm glad it worked out in the end. This series is vividly colored and beautiful as the characters in it and the acting was top notch.
**NOTE** Not all characters need to be included. Focusing on one character or a combination of the requested characters (romantic or platonically) is fine. If you're planning on writing the characters as older, I would prefer a timeskip rather than an AU version, please.
What is a day in the life of Fudatsuki Lai like? How does he balance school life, being Student Council President, running an underground casino and testing military tech? Does he have any time for fun? How does he handle the casino being shut down?
How does Lai feel about Mayumi calling him for help? What is Lai's perspective on the meeting at the carousel?
One of the major themes of the series is creating memories one can look back on fondly. What are some moments, big or small, that Manabu or Mayumi would want to remember?
What does the detective club do when there isn't a case to solve?
How would a reunion go? Or would they have been keeping in touch throughout the years?
Great Pretender
I love when rich people who cheat others get what's coming to them. This absolutely filled the void Leverage left in my heart while still being fabulously itself. Honestly I feel so well-fed by this fandom, I don't know what to ask for. Maybe more things that build Makoto's sense of agency would be nice for him.
Laurent and Makoto do not necessarily have to be in a ship if that is your preference, but I do like them together.
If Makoto were to invite Laurent on a con he's spearheading, what would it be? How would he go about it?
What do Laurent and Makoto do during downtime between cons? What do they do to keep their skills sharp?
Lord El-Melloi II Case Files
**NOTE** Not all characters need to be included, though at the very least I would like Flat to be there. I have no deep thoughts beyond adoring Flat Escardos for his whimsical, chaotic nature. Any combination of characters with him would be fine, but if Waver Velvet is suffering on top of that, I would be absolutely delighted. (I love him that's why he must be bullied.)
I am a fan of Fate/Grand Order AUs, so what would Flat be like as a demi-servant, or master to one of the other characters on the list?
Or what would happen if Fate/Grand Order (or something like it) were a game in-universe and Flat somehow manages to get access to Waver's funds?
